Questions

What do I need on Linux?

An x86_64 Linux desktop with glibc 2.34 or newer, GTK 3 and WebKitGTK 4.1. The installer needs Python 3.10 or newer. The app has been tested on EndeavourOS with GNOME.

Camera preview needs ffmpeg; virtual webcam output needs v4l2loopback. Microphone sharing uses PipeWire with PulseAudio compatibility, pactl, pw-cat and ffmpeg. Clipboard integration needs wl-clipboard on Wayland or xclip on X11. See the setup guide for details.

Does the Android app need to stay open?

Keep it visible when starting camera or microphone capture. Once sharing starts, you can switch apps. Capture stops if the connection is lost and must be started again manually.

If your phone stops background apps, choose Unrestricted or No restrictions in the companion’s Background settings. Android limits clipboard reads in the background; open the companion or tap Send clipboard in its notification to send phone text.

Can I connect from a different network?

Both devices need to be on the same local Wi-Fi network. There is no cloud relay or remote connection service. Guest Wi-Fi may prevent devices from reaching one another.

Can I send folders?

Zip a folder before sending it. You can send up to 16 files at a time, up to 8 GiB each. Interrupted transfers must be sent again.
